Symptoms of Coeliac Disease
Symptoms of coeliac disease are often confused with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and may include bloating, wind, diarrhoea, malutrition and skin disorders. Coeliac disease is a lifelong gastrointestinal disorder cuased by sensitivity to gluten found in wheat, barley and rye. Around 1 in 100 people have coeliac disease but most have not yet been diagnosed.
The SELFCheck Gluten Sensitivity Test detects Immunoglobulin A tissue transglutaminase antibodies (IgA tTG) in a finger prick blood drop. A positive result indicates that it is linkely that you have coeliac disease.
