What is Chlamydia?
Chlamydia is a sexually transmitted infection (STI) caused by a tiny bacterium called Chlamydia trachomatis and often presents no symptoms. Chlamydia is easliy treatable. However, when left untreated it can lead to complications such as inflammation of the fallopian tubes (salpingitis), inflamamation of the womb (cervicitis), pelvic inflammatory disease (PID and infertility. Chlamydia is one of the most common STIc.
